As we age and expose our skin to the sun, the natural presence of hyaluronic acid, a molecule that attracts water, diminishes. SKINVIVE™ contains microdroplets of hyaluronic acid to help counteract the resulting effects, such as changes in texture and dullness. What does the procedure entail?

The SkinVive procedure is remarkably simple. During the consultation process, Dr. Harbison and his team carry out a thorough assessment of your current situation and medical history. The aesthetician then begins the process by cleaning your face. Next, a thin needle is used to inject small amounts of the SkinVive serum into multiple areas of the cheeks. Patients may feel a small pinch or sting, but this discomfort is minimal and passes quickly. SkinVive is formulated with .3% lidocaine, making the injections less painful. A full treatment session usually lasts between 15 and 30 minutes.

As there is no downtime after the procedure, patients are able to get back to their normal schedules almost immediately following the treatment. That said, patients may experience some mild swelling or discoloration at the injection sites, which will dissipate over the course of 30 days.

Following the procedure, it is recommended that patients avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun and heat exposure, and alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours. Engaging in these activities can cause temporary redness, swelling, or itching near the injection sites.

What to expect from the results

After undergoing a SkinVive treatment, patients usually see the results right away. That said, there is likely to be some swelling, meaning that the full effects of the treatment may not be visible for a few days. The results include healthy, optimally hydrated skin lasting 6 to 9 months.
