Will filler injections hurt?

Filler injections take only minutes to complete. If you have certain areas that are more sensitive, we can help anesthetize those areas to minimize discomfort. This may include topical numbing creams or strategic nerve blocks. Injections take a few moments per site. The entire process typically takes less than an hour.

Is there any downtime with dermal filler injections?

Downtime is minimal, but there can be mild bruising in some areas. There are no significant restrictions after treatment. You may resume normal activities right away. Avoid strenuous activity for 24 to 48 hours to help minimize swelling and bruising.

Achieve Fuller, Shapely Lips with Dermal Fillers

Lip fillers can address a variety of aesthetic concerns, including:

  • Volume Loss: Restore youthful fullness to aging lips.
  • Asymmetry: Correct unevenness for a balanced look.
  • Shape Enhancement: Define and contour lip shape for a more refined appearance.
  • Smooth Lines: Reduce fine lines around the mouth for a smoother, younger look.

Under the care of Dr. Harbison, a double-board-certified facial plastic surgeon, you can expect a meticulous approach to lip enhancement. We only use FDA-approved, hyaluronic acid-based fillers, which are safe and provide a natural feel and appearance. Our goal is to help you achieve lips that enhance your overall facial harmony without appearing overdone.

What to Expect During Your Lip Filler Appointment

First, you’ll attend a comprehensive consultation where we discuss your aesthetic goals and evaluate your facial anatomy. Based on your desires and our expert assessment, we create a personalized treatment plan tailored to achieve your ideal look.

Next, the filler injections are administered precisely, often taking just a few minutes per lip. To ensure your comfort, we offer various numbing options. Our team is skilled in advanced injection techniques to minimize discomfort and provide a smooth, even filler application.

After the procedure, there may be slight swelling or bruising, but this typically resolves within a few days. We provide detailed aftercare instructions to ensure optimal results.

How Long Do Lip Fillers Last?

The longevity of lip fillers can vary depending on the specific product used and individual factors. Generally, the results can last between six months to a year. Regular touch-ups help maintain your desired look.

Dermal Fillers FAQs

How effective are dermal fillers for facial contouring?

While dermal fillers were first used for filling individual wrinkles, advances in product and techniques have given us the ability to contour and reshape parts of the face. This makes these injectable fillers a much more powerful anti-aging tool.

Why are there so many fillers, and what is the difference?

When dermal fillers first came on the market, there were relatively few options, and the same product was being used for many areas. Over the last few years, there has been a significant increase in the number and types of products available. There are now specialized products that perform better in distinct regions of the face. It is important to see an experienced injector with a working knowledge of these available fillers to give you the best result.

What areas of the face can be treated with fillers?

The list of applications for fillers is growing. We can treat many areas of the face, depending on your anatomy and concerns. Some examples of areas treated include:

  • Hollow temples
  • Hollowed appearance under the eyes
  • Jawline
  • Weak cheekbones or loss of fat high in the cheek
  • Nasal hump
  • Thin lips
  • Lines and wrinkles around the mouth
  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
  • Weak chin (microgenia)
  • Severe acne scars

Will I look overdone?

When done well, the results are very natural and help to restore a more youthful appearance. Results are usually immediate. However, certain areas, such as the lips, may swell for 24 to 48 hours. Duration of the effect differs among fillers and areas injected.

Do I have to know which product and where?

Absolutely not. As part of your Omaha Aesthetics consultation prior to service, our experienced team will discuss which products will best suit your desired result.

What is the cost?

Pricing is based on the area(s) treated and products used. Prices start at $500.
